Immortal is an interesting beginning to the Daughters of Darkness series. Blair is a nurse in a rough neighborhood in New York. She is also 1/2 vampire and 1/2 witch. When three patients end up on the ER with drug ODs, Blair knows it's not drugs that are the problem. Someone filled these people with magic that is killing them from the inside. Blair is written by Chrissy Peebles who excels in smooth dialogue, character development, and world building. I enjoyed the twists and turns in the story as Blair learns just what type of people she's aligned with in her coven. As a 1/2 witch 1/2 vampire hybrid, her coven has always treated her a bit differently.
